Black History Month, October 2021

Call out for items celebrating cultural identify and diversity.

Next October The Appleby Gallery is hosting an exhibition in celebration of Black History Month.  As well as featuring local artists we are inviting members of our community to loan us items that celebrate their cultural identity and diversity.  This may include artworks, photographs, posters, books, clothing, any recipes and ingredients (dried store cupboard items) or other cultural items you feel may be suitable for exhibition.

If you are an artist, poet, or creative whose work relates to Black History (contemporary history included) then we would love to hear from you.

We hope this exhibition will be a real community collaboration across all ages, we invite our wider local community and staff and students of the ‘LIFE’ Academy trust to participate. We hope that you will join us to make this celebration of Black history month a success.

For more information or to give us details of what you would like to loan please email Lisa Walker via lwalker@fbaok.co.uk
