Year 11

As the school is currently closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it is really important to remember that although we are not together in person, we are still a community.

The Sixth Form Team and teachers have been working hard to ensure that current and upcoming students are supported during this difficult time. In addition to this, students can also contact their teacher/s and tutors via SMHW, Google classroom or via email.

Please find resources below to keep you motivated and ready for your next chapter.

Mrs Loyal

Assistant Vice Principal KS5

We know that an unexpected end to your GCSE’s isn’t easy and many of you will have worries about how to prepare for your next chapter. We have put together a super-curriculum document which contains book, film/documentary and podcast suggestions for each subject. When you are applying for apprenticeships and universities, they look for students who have engaged in super curricula activities as it demonstrates you going further than the course content and extending your knowledge and passion. We are giving you a reason to watch more Netflix and use your phones – no complaining here!

After Easter there will be more information available to you on our website. We will be uploading some more detailed work for each subject to help you prepare for your BTEC or A-level study with us. There are also some other documents which include free online courses, information on apprenticeships and how to be employable from home. I would highly recommend that you all complete at least one free course on MOOCS or future learn, as well the A-level mindset course, which are all included on the online courses document.
