My name is Zara and I am a Year 11 student at Frances Bardsley Academy.

When I was applying to schools in Year 6, FBA’s exceptional grades, beautiful grounds, and outstanding reviews captivated my attention right away. Now that I’m in Year 11,

I can say that FBA has exceeded my expectations. This is a result of the staff’s unwavering dedication to upholding diversity and female empowerment for all students. Here, girl empowerment is crucial, therefore FBA works to uplift us young women and provide us the tools we need to rise above expectations.

I think what sets FBA apart from other schools is that they give each student a solid academic, moral, and compassionate foundation while pushing us to pursue a wide range of objectives that will better equip us for the future. As I approach the end of my time in secondary school, I feel prepared—academically and mentally—to finish my GCSEs and move on to the next stage of my education.

FBA offers a range of clubs and activities for every type of person. From sports to science clubs, FBA has it all. Plus, the abundance of leadership roles provides students with the attributes they need in life- making them reach their potential. Being in a school that gives students an assortment of new roles, guarantees that they always have somewhere to exhibit their individual interests.

Furthermore, FBA has offered me with a wide range of leadership opportunities that have been extremely beneficial to me in Year 11- not only does this make individual students stand out, but presents what you do best in.

FBA takes immense pride in offering outstanding pastoral care to any and all students who seek it. Due to the help from staff, like our careers advisor, students are welcomed to an abundance of different pathways and career choices- reducing the stress some may feel. At first, I thought I had to know what I wanted to choose and have an idea of  a career once I started Year 11, but because of our wellbeing team- we are supported into finding out correct pathway at our own pace.

To conclude, FBA has a warm, welcoming environment – guiding students to uncover what they’re passionate about. I truly believe it’s a unique school that flourishes with various cultures and traditions, making it an inclusive community.
