Hi, my name is Naz, and I’m in Year 11, currently preparing for my GCSEs. This year so far has been one of the most important and challenging years of my school journey, but it’s also been one of the most rewarding. I’ve realised just how much I’ve grown both as a student and as a person thanks to the amazing support and opportunities this school provides and the community, the friends I have made along this journey are ones I hope that will be around for many more years!
Our school’s mission to empower young women to lead successful and fulfilling lives truly comes to life every single day, and I’m proud to say that it has helped shape me into who I am today.
When I think about how far I’ve come academically, I’m honestly amazed. I am deeply grateful for everything the school and teachers have done for me and seeing how much they prioritise our academics in this stressful but incredibly important year. The teachers here are incredibly dedicated, they always go the extra mile to make sure we understand our subjects and feel confident going into exams.
Whether it’s through the after-school period 6, detailed feedback, or simply taking the time to check in, their support never goes unnoticed. I’ve learned how to push myself, manage my time better, and truly believe that I’m capable of achieving my goals and dream grades.
The school also offers a fantastic range of extracurricular activities that make learning so much more than just what happens in the classroom. From creative clubs and sports teams to exciting trips and workshops, there’s always something to get involved in, my personal favourite is volleyball. Taking part in these activities has helped me build friendships, discover new interests and develop a real sense of teamwork and community. It’s these experiences and people that have made my time here so memorable.
One thing that really stands out at this school is the focus on leadership and responsibility. Being given opportunities to take on roles such as prefect, subject ambassadors, or student council has helped me grow in confidence and learn valuable skills I’ll carry with me beyond school. I’ve discovered that leadership isn’t just about having a title it’s about setting an example, helping others, and having the courage to make a difference. These experiences have helped me step outside my comfort zone and realise my potential.
And of course, something I’ll always appreciate is how the school cares for our well-being. The teachers and well-being team care about how we’re coping, especially during exam season. They’ve taught us how to handle stress, introduced us to useful revision techniques, and reminded us the importance of breakfast before an exam. Knowing that we’re supported not just academically but emotionally makes a difference.
Looking back, I can honestly say that this school has helped me grow into a more confident, resilient, and independent young woman. As I prepare for my GCSEs and think about the future, I feel ready because this school has given me the skills, the confidence, and the mindset to succeed.
