Our Reading Mission
The Frances Bardsley Academy mission statement ‘exists to empower young women with the knowledge and personal characteristics needed to live successful and fulfilling lives.’
With this in mind, our reading mission is to cultivate a profound love for reading among our students, equipping them with literacy skills and intellectual curiosity essential for navigating an ever-evolving world.
Through a rich and diverse literary curriculum, we empower young women to explore, analyse and interpret texts, fostering critical thinking, empathy and a lifelong passion for learning.
By embracing the transformative power of reading, we inspire our students to embark on a journey of self-discovery, cultural enrichment and personal growth, enabling them to flourish academically and thrive as confident, engaged members of society.
Our Reading Canon has been carefully selected and all books resonate with our KRACERS characteristics of being knowledgeable, resilient, articulate, compassionate, empathetic, reflective and studious.
