Welcome to FBA PTA
The FBA PTA (Parent Teacher Association) is a group of parents, carers and staff who work together to support The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls and its students.
Our aim is simple: to bring our school community together, raise valuable funds and help provide additional opportunities, resources and experiences that benefit our students.
We believe that by working together, we can make a real difference to school life and help create an even more positive and enriching environment for our girls.
Whether you have lots of time to offer or can only help occasionally, we would love you to be involved. Every contribution, however big or small, makes a difference.
Our Aims
The FBA PTA aims to:
- Organise fundraising activities and events that bring together parents, carers, staff and the wider school community.
- Raise funds to support additional equipment, resources and opportunities that enhance students’ learning and experiences.
- Support school projects and initiatives that benefit our girls.
- Explore opportunities for donations, sponsorship and external funding from local businesses and organisations.
- Strengthen the relationship between families and the school, helping to build a welcoming and supportive community.
Above all, we want to make a positive contribution to school life and help ensure that our students have the best possible opportunities throughout their time at FBA.
Get Involved – We Would Love Your Help!
The success of FBA PTA depends on the support, enthusiasm and ideas of our school community.
We understand that family life, work and other commitments can make it difficult to find spare time. Being involved in the PTA doesn’t mean you have to attend every meeting or volunteer at every event.
There are lots of ways you can help, including:
- Attending PTA meetings and sharing your ideas.
- Helping to organise or support fundraising events.
- Volunteering a little time when you are available.
- Donating items or raffle prizes.
- Helping us connect with local businesses that may be able to offer sponsorship or donations.
- Supporting and promoting our fundraising activities.
You don’t need any previous PTA experience, just a willingness to help!
New members and fresh ideas are always welcome, and we would love to hear from anyone who would like to get involved.
Fundraising and Events
Fundraising is an important part of what we do at FBA PTA.
Through events, activities and the generosity of our school community, we aim to raise funds that can be used to support projects and provide additional resources and opportunities for students.
We are always looking for new and exciting fundraising ideas, particularly those that encourage families to get involved and bring our school community together.
Our fundraising activities may include raffles, seasonal events, sales, community activities and other initiatives throughout the school year.
We also welcome suggestions from parents, carers and staff about projects or resources that could benefit our students.
Every pound raised helps us make a difference.
Supporting FBA PTA Through Donations and Sponsorship
We are always grateful for support from parents, carers, local businesses and the wider community.
If you own a business, work for an organisation that offers charitable donations or match funding, or know someone who may be willing to support our fundraising efforts, we would love to hear from you.
Support could include financial donations, raffle prizes, products, services or sponsorship of a particular school project.
Your generosity can help us make our fundraising go further and provide even more opportunities for our students.
PTA Meetings
FBA PTA holds meetings throughout the school year to discuss fundraising ideas, plan events and explore ways we can support the school.
All parents, carers and staff are welcome to attend.
Meetings are a great opportunity to meet other members of our school community, share ideas and find out more about what the PTA is working towards.
You are welcome to come along, even if you just want to find out more. There is no pressure to commit to anything.
PTA meetings are held in the Old Library. Dates for 2026/2027 :
- Thursday 12th November 2026 @5pm
- Thursday 14th January 2027 @5pm
- Thursday 25th February 2027 @ 5pm
- Thursday 25th March 2027 @5pm
- Thursday 10th June 2027 @5pm

Support Our School – Every Contribution Makes a Difference
At FBA, we want every student to enjoy the best possible learning opportunities and school experiences.
Alongside our PTA fundraising activities, families can support the school through voluntary contributions to the FBA School Fund.
These donations help provide additional resources, activities and opportunities that enrich school life and benefit our girls.
Contributing is completely voluntary, and there is no obligation to donate. Every contribution, however big or small, is greatly appreciated.

You can also raise money for our school at no extra cost when shopping online through easyfundraising.
Simply sign up, choose The Frances Bardsley Academy for Girls as your cause, and participating retailers will make a donation when you shop.
